If anyone’s curious, the article I did for Nha has been posted on their website. There’s also an article written by Annie Han Nguyen based on an interview we did some months ago.

That was lovely, Sume. Really beautiful.
I’m so proud of you.
At last! I’ve been looking high and low around Honolulu for Nha, but couldn’t find it anywhere. Thanks for posting these links. Your essay was wonderful — like breathing a sigh of relief. Big hugs!
Congratulations, Sume, for getting your awesome essay published. Yes, we should not shy away from the fact that we (adult Vietnamese adoptees) are first generation Vietnamese-Americans, too. Although, the ethnic/national distinction still sounds a bit odd to me.
I can’t wait to read it!!!
Oh, and I finally got to listen to your radio show! You did a great job Sume! It was good to hear your voice. Going to read your article now.
Thanks everyone!
JR, you have no idea how much that means!
Ji-in, yes! Big sigh of relief. I looked all over my area, too, but couldn’t find it anywhere. I’m sooo glad they decided to put it online.
Kevin, yeah I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with that one. On one hand I should just say, “Hey, I’m American,” but on another, it leaves out a lot because “American” isn’t the same for everyone. I’m still mulling over it and no conclusions yet.
Mia, thanks. Maybe we’ll all get to hear you sometime, too. *hint *hint
Sume, so well written. Congratulations! I feel like I know someone famous and her name is not Angelina.
mashallah sume, what a beautiful article. was that u as a baby? sho kyooot! and not so bad these days either
well done.
Hey Sue, thanks! Hehe, nahhh, not famous. Maybe a little infamous though.
Malia, ohhhh, thank you. Yeah, that was a photo of me when I was 3 months old (according to what was written in the back).
Hey there,
great article! and very well accompanied by the photographic artwork.
(I am slowly slowly catching up)
